OTech professional certification is readily available to health imaging and IT students and professionals who want to demonstrate their skills needed for a successful career in the health imaging and IT field. These certifications fill the gap where other professional organizations have left off, and/or do not (yet) provide a certification. These certifications provide value as it provides the recognition that a student mastered a certain subject and met the objectives as stated in the certification requirements.
The certification exam by itself is open to anyone who registers and pays the exam fee. The most effective way to prepare for the exam is by taking our on-line courses; however, taking these courses is not a requirement as one might have obtained the required knowledge through either self study and/or experience.
The certification exams are provided on-line and consist of 100 multiple choice questions that a candidate has to complete in one hour. Sample exams are provided as part of our on-line training at the end of each course. A candidate can retake an exam; a fee is required each time a candidate retakes it. The exam is generated by drawing randomly from a set of questions from an exam pool which is regularly updated.
Candidates who have successfully passed the exam, can indicate at time of registration that they would like to be part of the OTech certification register, which is available on-line at the OTech website for potential and/or current employers, and they also will receive a certificate which is emailed and can be printed.
OTech fully supports continuing education and certification activities for PACS and Imaging administrators. Our seminars provide you with a pathway to both an academic degree through our affiliation with Clarkson College, one of the few institutions that provide a program targeted to these professionals, and also prepare you for one or more of the several PACS administrator certification options.
The CHDMA training and certification is created to provide document management professionals with an opportunity to advance their skills and learn how the basic scanning technology should be utilized to its full potential. The training is tied to a certification exam so that a professional can demonstrate his or her newly acquired knowledge. This certification was created by OTech Inc. through an educational grant of the Eastman Kodak company. In the process of defining the certification requirements and accompanying training, a group of industry experts from the healthcare IT field was consulted to form a consensus about the curriculum. We expect to keep this certification current and therefore encourage any feedback you might have about the certification requirements, training and/or exam contents.
