The HL7 certification pack will provide an understanding of the HL7 standard, which is a requirement for system integrators, developers, end users, from the healthcare IT as well as the PACS side. This set of 3 CD's provides a good introduction, takes a specific message as an example (in this case an ADT message) and explains all the parts of this message in great detail.

The HL7 messaging textbook is included, which is an excellent reference explaining the HL7 messaging as well as the most important transactions used for imaging. The package also includes the HL7 study guide which provides a step by step review, referring to the book, CD's and the HL7 standard. This study guide will allow potential candidates to prepare themselves to get certified by the HL7 organization as each of the certification requirements is reviewed in great detail.

The hands-on HL7 CD provides a mechanism for someone to either take a message and take it apart, or, in reverse, build one from scratch, in addition to test conformance. This uses a so-called messaging workbench, a public domain software packet, which is included as part of the package.
