This high paced web-based seminar teaches the essential components of the DICOM standard, its protocol and data format (header), and how to resolve any interface issues with devices using this interface standard.
This seminar is intended for professionals who support, manage and develop medical imaging devices such as digital acquisition modalities, PACS systems, and systems who are image enabled such as Electronic Health Records. Professionals include, but are not limited to, PACS administrators and Radiologic Technologists who regularly interface with a PACS such as for "fixing studies", biomedical engineers, service engineers and IT personnel. This seminar is also useful for anyone who wants to learn about this standard as they are looking for a career in healthcare imaging and informatics such as software developers, integration and interface analysts.
Students will understand the DICOM standard, i.e. the protocol details such as establishing connections, the DICOM protocol commands, be able to read and fix DICOM headers and configure DICOM devices.
This is a synchronous delivered, instructor lead, live web session. This seminar will cover a lot of materials using a high pace, and it is therefore recommended to prepare yourself using the reading assignments from our DICOM Basics text book, which is distributed prior to the class. The seminar has 4 sections/modules of one hour each, each module includes several exercises and a Q and A session.
It is strongly recommended to dial-in to the virtual classroom 15 minutes prior to the class to resolve any technical issues with audio, internet, etc.
You purchase a single "seat" which means that you should not share the invite for the meeting with others. If you wish to have several participants, you can order additional seats. Each participant will than get a copy of the hand-outs and license to the applicable e-book.
